Assists the HR Generalists in the administration of the Human Resources function, ensuring all HR-related policies, practices and procedures are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Provides hands-on direct service to the required HR/Payroll tasks including but not limited to processing requests for assigned branches/camps/departments, troubleshooting timekeeping/payroll issues on a daily basis, assisting directors and other leaders with any questions related to timekeeping/payroll. Acts as advocate/consultant to employees needing assistance with time/attendance questions. Works in the HRIS system processing New Hires, existing employee change requests, terminations and all other employee related HR tasks.
Assists with Benefits tasks related to Open enrollment, claims resolution, staff inquiries/questions and account set up for full-time staff. Is the primary owner of the Health Savings account relationship with our Third Party and ensures that funds are made in a timely manner and in keeping with all of the federal regulations surrounding Health Savings accounts.
Oversees all aspects of our Substance Abuse testing, including managing our relationship with the Third-Party Administrator who delivers our testing for staff, setting up quarterly random testing, and ensuring processes are fair and equitable. Partners with the Risk Department to keep the Substance Abuse policy updated and relevant.
Assists in the monitoring and maintaining of Workers Compensation related issues; works closely with our Third-Party administrator, our Risk department and YMCA of the Triangle leaders to resolve claims in an efficient and timely manner. Is the primary contact with our staff when situations warrant one on one communications.
Works alongside our Risk Department to regulate all health and safety mandates put out from the Association (e.g. Covid-19 mask mandates).
Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
Maintains a working knowledge of EEOC, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and OSHA compliance, and acts as a resource for assigned staff.
Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
Additional Human Resources responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or 2-3 years of experience with human resources functions desired.
Experience working with an HRIS system a definite asset.
Excellent computer skills and ability to work in multiple online platforms.
Strong consultative, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Ability to multi-task and complete large volumes of projects and tasks.
Multi-lingual desired but not required.
