About the Role
The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and administering the company’s workstation computers, systems and networks. This includes creating and maintaining license, policy and procedure documents, monitoring ongoing contracts with suppliers, and serving as the primary interface to the level one support helpdesk organization. The IT Administrator ensures hardware is available, and accounts are set up for new employees and contractors. You will provide user training during employee and contractor on-boarding, software updates and new system / application deployments.
You’ll do…
· Support Microsoft and Apple workstations (laptop and desktop – computers)
· User support for business applications
· Specify, order, stage and coordinate configuration of employee computing equipment
· Manage and maintain peripheral equipment (printers, copiers, etc.) in our office locations
· Manage IT support vendor relationships and service levels
· Supplement helpdesk services by providing direct support to users, as needed
· Collaborate with IT Leadership and others to research, analyze and determine standards for hardware, software, and security solutions
· Work with Information Security to monitor and ensure compliance with security policies and practices
· Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate support teams for resolution
· Perform failure analysis and determine corrective action plans
· Oversee inventory management of software and hardware components
· Create and update technical documentation
· Other duties as assigned
· Minimal travel less than five percent of the time
You Bring…
· BS Computer Science or related field or a minimum five years of IT Administrator experience
· Minimum two years IT Administrator experience (plus a related degree)
· Proven experience as a desktop administrator, network administrator or similar role
· Experience administering networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
· Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
· Microsoft and Apple desktop and Network certifications preferred
