VP Accounting

RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL):

• Work closely with the Treasury team to execute the cash management strategies.
• Serve as a liaison between the Company and correspondent banks
• Implements and maintains well-written policies, procedures, process and internal controls.
• Work cross functionally with departments to ensure seamless accounting operations throughout the Company.
• Ensure vendors are paid timely, accurately and within policy.
• Monitor vendor spending trends and adequacy of expense accruals.
• Supervise various account reconciliations and other month-end closing activities.
• Develop reports that assist in the monitoring of accounting operations.
• Assist the financial reporting team with review and documentation procedures.
• Responsible for certain regulatory, sales and property tax reporting.
• Participate in the preparation of internal, external and regulatory audits.
• Research and resolve any accounting or regulatory, issues as requested.
• Participate in special projects within department and/or cross functionally.
• Enthusiastically support the Bank’s Guiding Principles and Brand Behaviors.
• Adhere to federal regulatory requirements, such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Acts, and all established policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES (MARGINAL):

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• CPA license preferred.
• 7 plus years, mix of public and private accounting preferred.
• Banking experience preferred.
• Strong managerial and communication skills required.
• Thorough knowledge of SEC reporting and disclosure rules required.
• Fluent SOX and accounting policy required.
• Must have ability to work as a positive team member with critical attention to detail in a fast paced, high volume environment.
