Business Manager

Location: Work-from-home, St. Louis area preferred

The Congregation of the Mission is the (Roman Catholic) order of priests and brothers founded by St. Vincent dePaul in 1625. Position Summary

The Business Manager is responsible for general operations of this small and growing faith-based not-for-profit fundraising organization. Duties include finances include banking, gift processing, payments, bookkeeping and reporting (to the executive director and board), and general operations including donor database management, website management and coordination with social media efforts.

Responsibilities

• Daily gift processing (receipt of gifts, entry into database)
• Electronic deposits of gifts/payments
• Coordination of gift acknowledgement
• Daily, monthly, and annual balancing
• Generate, analyze, and present financial reports to executive director and board
• Assist with management of investments and report on same
• Manage donor and accounting databases
• Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements
• Assist executive director with other operational matters

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Accounting or bookkeeping, especially in not-for-profit setting
• Donor relations, donor management
• Designing, documenting, and following policies and practices
• Database management
• Familiarity with Catholic structures and teachings
• Appreciation for international missionary and service activities
• Self-directed, inquisitive, creative,
• Willing to admit limits of knowledge and to learn new things
• Available for occasional international travel

Compensation

• Salary: commensurate with experience
• Vacation: 3 weeks plus generous holiday schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
