As a Video Editing Specialist, you’d help us create training data for a project with one of the world’s top AI labs.

Your role:

As a Video Editing Specialist, you will apply your professional experience in non-linear video editing and post-production to help design, execute, and evaluate realistic video editing workflows. The core objective of this role is to translate real, day-to-day editorial reasoning into structured tasks and evaluations, enabling AI systems to learn how experienced editors assemble coherent, polished video from raw footage.

Compensation:

• Compensation: $40-50/hour
• Commitment: 15-40 hours per week
• Type: Contract, part-time
• Location: Fully remote

What you’ll do:

• Execute tasks within Shotcut to validate feasibility and establish ground-truth solutions
• Write detailed task specifications for video editing workflows, including clear prompts, expected outputs, and grading criteria
• Cut narrative sequences, synchronize audio and video tracks, apply color grades, and produce finished short-form video outputs
• Define grading rubrics that assess both technical execution (e.g., audio levels, clean cuts, correct export settings) and editorial judgment (e.g., pacing, motivated cuts, narrative flow)
• Provide clear, written documentation of your workflows, reasoning, and quality assessments

What we’re looking for:

We are specifically seeking experienced video editors and post-production professionals with strong editorial sensibility and hands-on production experience.

Relevant Backgrounds:

• Proficiency and fluency with Shotcut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar NLEs
• Video editors working in agencies, studios, or freelance post-production
• Content creators or short-form editors with a portfolio of promotional, documentary, or social content
• Hands-on experience with timeline-based editing, transitions, color correction, and audio mixing
• Familiarity with export settings and delivery specs for various platforms
