Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the IT Coordinator is responsible for the daily operational aspects of the helpdesk, endpoints, and audiovisual systems at the School of Public Health. The position oversees the ticketing system and makes recommendations for improvements to the ticketing system processes—triage and assign tickets. Design and program queries and reports; manage settings, permissions, and workflows; and track metrics on the ticketing system. Follow up on tickets to ensure they are resolved promptly by providing necessary resources and guidance. Resolve tickets escalated above the frontline level by consulting with users/customers to understand needs, troubleshoot problems, and answer related questions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, or a related degree is required
Experience:
2 to 4 years experience in IT and/or AV support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems
Demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheets, html, and other analytical tools
Ability to quickly learn, select, purchase, deploy, and utilize software, hardware, and A/V equipment
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of UMD applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, DUO, and Google Apps for Education
Ability to instruct, direct, assist, guide, and share information with both technical and non-technical personnel. Friendly, service-oriented manner
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strict attention to detail and the ability to think creatively

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and transport computer equipment up to 60 lbs. Ability to sit and stand for long stretches of time. Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment components with manual dexterity.
