Position Purpose & Summary
Cargill is developing an ambitious Trading strategy that aims to transform the way Cargill operates across enterprises and functions over the coming years.This strategy looks at key aspects of our trading activities and the scale of the transformation will require building out new enterprise-level quantitative, electronic, and algorithmic trading capabilities. To enact this build-out, a team will need to be recruited and managed to turn this vision into a live working product; and technology solutions will need to be designed and implemented. The role of UI/UX Developer – Quantitative Trading Execution is to work with the Quantitative Trading Execution Head of Technology and fellow team members to design and build the UI components and user experience for a large-scale deployment of a highly distributed trading system. The UI/UX Developer will focus on the front-end components of trading workstations, integration into the back-end systems and the technology involved in large scale deployments of the UI. This role will allow Cargill to achieve its vision of transforming Quantitative Trading and Execution. This position will be responsible to work with the Quantitative Trading Execution team to manage technology and software projects within the Quantitative Trading Execution team, driving actions and tracking concrete metrics to measure results and meet timelines.
Principal Accountabilities
80% Trading Execution Platform
Design, build and implement UI/UX to create trading workstation for Cargill’s electronic trading platform
Actively work with development team to test and build out UI components of the trading platform
Serve as a software architect to create solution for large scale deployment of front-end workstation and UI
Work with division lead and technology lead to help set timelines and allocate resources to execute the vision of the group
Design, develop and/or select visualizations for market data, trade data, analytics and diagnostic data
Interface with other groups within Cargill to coordinate integration of trading platform into other areas of the firm
Report on progress and delays in the project20% Trading Integration
Work with external groups within Cargill to integrate trading technology and trading platform into their respective business units
Work with business units to get feedback of workstation UI/UX
Required Qualifications
B.S. or B.A. or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or Design
5+ years of UX/UI design experience
5+ years of Agile delivery and methodology experience
2+ years of experience with JavaScript / typescript
Ability to interpret customer and business needs and translate into solutions
Experience working with cloud based services such as AWS or Azure
Experience working with automated testing frameworks
Demonstrated ability on execution of complex projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in financial services
Full stack JavaScript experience: front-end, APIs/middleware, back-end
Knowledge of trading systemsOther relevant information to the position
The build out of the Quantitative Trading Execution platform is a high-priority and high-visibility project within Cargill. The project has sponsorship from the top levels of the firm.
