Are you an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy? Accountemps has an exciting opportunity at a rapidly-growing organization in the Banking industry for a Staff Accountant. The company offering this terrific long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity is based in the San Francisco, California region and provides rewards for hard work. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You’ll also be reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and playing an active role in compliance. Your responsibilities in this role – Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments – Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner – Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting – Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision – Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process – Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll – Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation – Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules – Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP – Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
– Vow to meet business deadlines – Spreadsheet and database capabilities – Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis – Expertise in Hyperion Financial Management – General ledger experience desired – BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics – Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision – Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment – Excellent attention to detail – 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience – Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills – Efficient in ERP systems – Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
