Sr Strategy & Planning Associate – Retail Full Time NEW

As the Senior Strategy & Planning Associate, you will be at the center of data-driven decision making for Uber’s Grocery & Retail business in North America. You will play a central role in developing data-driven insight, establishing growth strategy, and ensuring we are on track with the choices we’ve made through robust governance and reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Business Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, the competitive landscape, and internal performance data within the Grocery & Retail vertical to inform strategic decisions and deliver actionable insights
• Performance Tracking & Governance: Develop metrics and dashboards to track progress against goals for strategic initiatives and lead regular performance reviews to ensure that the initiatives are on track to achieve their objectives
• Strategic Initiatives: Lead strategic initiatives end-to-end to enhance Uber’s retail-related offerings. This includes managing projects like competitive pricing benchmarking, cost savings, and launching new programs or features
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product, Finance, and Marketing, to develop and implement initiatives that align with the overall strategy
• Strategic & Business Planning: Contribute to the annual strategic and financial planning processes led by the Planning team. Support the development of strategic priorities and assist in translating them into actionable commercial plans underpinned by OKRs and reflected in the financial plan

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a data-driven role within strategy, operations, e-commerce, tech, investment banking or consulting
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a quantitative field (i.e. Statistics, Data Science, Engineering)
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in SQL and the ability to build and maintain robust strategic, financial and operational models

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing cross-functional projects and driving operational improvements with a track record of executing initiatives from planning to results
• Experience in the retail or CPG industry
• Strong familiarity (or appetite to engage with) AI tools to drive efficiency and speed to insight, such as GPT and Cursor
• Effective communicator with the ability to translate data and insights into compelling stories. Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders and leadership
• Demonstrates strong business judgment and critical thinking skills to quickly identify high-value priorities and support the development of strategies to pursue them
• Proven experience approaching data analysis from a structured, hypothesis-led basis, with the ability to create compelling and well-considered narratives and recommendations from the analysis and insights
• Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (such as a tech company, startup, or consulting) where you’ve had to adapt quickly, tackle ambiguous problems, and collaborate across teams
• A proactive, ownership mentality with a bias for action. Comfortable working independently when needed, and excited to innovate and continuously improve processes in an evolving space
• MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$118,000 per year – USD$131,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$131,000 per year – USD$145,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
