FirstGenTalks is seeking creative, motivated, and growth-oriented Social Media & Marketing Interns to support brand awareness, content creation, user engagement, and student growth initiatives. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in marketing, social media, communications, public relations, content creation, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, higher education, or EdTech startups.
About FirstGenTalks
FirstGenTalks is an emerging EdTech and financial literacy platform designed to support first-generation students through technology, coaching, scholarship support, and financial confidence-building resources. The platform includes tools such as Budget Boss, GrantMatchED, and FinLead Academy. Our mission is to help students build confidence, access opportunities, and navigate college and life with trusted guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging content for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and other social media platforms
• Assist with developing and executing social media and marketing campaigns
• Design graphics, promotional materials, reels, short-form videos, and digital content
• Support growth initiatives aimed at increasing app downloads, user engagement, and brand awareness
• Assist with content planning, scheduling, and management across social media channels
• Monitor social media analytics and provide recommendations for improving engagement and reach
• Support email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional communications
• Collaborate with outreach, partnerships, and community engagement teams on integrated campaigns
• Research trends, student interests, and emerging digital marketing opportunities
• Participate in weekly strategy and team meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong written communication and storytelling skills
• Interest in marketing, communications, social media, branding, entrepreneurship, higher education, or EdTech
• Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content creation tools
• Basic understanding of social media analytics and digital marketing concepts
• Creative, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
Compensation Structure:
This role includes performance-based stipend opportunities tied to measurable growth outcomes, including social media engagement, audience growth, content performance, user acquisition, app downloads, and paid subscriber conversions. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.

• Academic credit may be available depending on institutional requirements
