About the Role
The Vice President of Product Development is responsible for leading the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept ideation through design, engineering coordination, testing, and commercialization. This executive role ensures the delivery of innovative, high-quality, and market-driven products that align with the company’s strategic vision and growth objectives.
- Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the global product development strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead the full product lifecycle, including ideation, design, prototyping, development, and launch
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration between R&D, engineering, design, marketing, and supply chain teams
- Drive innovation pipelines and ensure a steady flow of new product introductions
- Manage product roadmaps and prioritize development initiatives based on market demand and ROI
- Ensure product quality, compliance, and regulatory standards are met across all regions
- Lead stage-gate product development processes and governance frameworks
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure scalable production readiness
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify product opportunities
- Build and mentor high-performing global product development teams
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for product programs
- Partner with executive leadership to align product strategy with corporate objectives
- QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Design, Business, or related field (MBA or Master’s preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in product development, R&D, or product management
- 5+ years in senior leadership or executive roles
- Proven success in launching and scaling complex products in global markets
- Strong technical understanding of product design, engineering, or manufacturing processes
- Experience working in cross-functional and international environments
- Preferred QualificationsExperience in technology, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, or healthcare industries
- Strong background in innovation management and product lifecycle systems
- Familiarity with Agile, Stage-Gate, or Lean product development methodologies
- Experience managing global product portfolios
