“Route Technician” (Deckhand) – Job Description(Keeping the Ship in Shape & Supporting the Crew)

Position Overview:

The Route Technician (Deckhand) is a key crew member responsible for performing daily lawn maintenance tasks, ensuring each property is serviced to the highest standards. Working under the guidance of the Route Lead (First Mate), the Deckhand plays a crucial role in keeping operations efficient, equipment maintained, and job sites looking pristine. This is a hands-on position requiring physical labor, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities:Lawn Maintenance & Service Tasks

• Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing to maintain high-quality lawns.
• Assist with landscape maintenance, including mulching and planting when needed.
• Follow job site checklists to ensure services are completed correctly and efficiently.

Equipment Handling & Maintenance

• Operate and maintain lawn care equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment for daily routes.
• Keep tools clean and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues.

Teamwork & Route Efficiency

• Support the Route Lead and crew in completing daily schedules on time.
• Work effectively with other crew members to maintain smooth operations.
• Be adaptable and willing to assist with different tasks as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operate equipment safely to prevent injury or damage.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

Qualifications:

• Prior lawn maintenance experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to take direction and work well within a team.

• Early morning start times and fast-paced work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
