Definition: Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties within various programs and activities of the Recreation and Parks Department; assists groups and individuals who are engaged in recreational activities and performs other related work as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Recreation Specialist II has greater responsibility for program administration. Recreation Specialist II has responsibility for meeting with parents and other contacts to resolve conflicts and determine best practices.
Supervision Exercised And Received
Recreation Specialist II receives limited supervision and exercises general supervision over assigned staff.

The following duties are performed in addition to the essential duties performed by Recreation Specialist I:
Experience and Education Guidelines: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and ability would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education
High school diploma or certified equivalent (GED); specialized training in area of assignment.
Experience
Two years’ experience as Recreation Specialist I or equivalent.
Licenses/certifications/other Requirements
