Position Summary: The Packaging Graphic Designer will prepare a wide range of packaging artwork for final production, as well as occasional new product concept imagery and illustrations. They will work with multiple internal departments to produce these creative assets based on brand and international standard guidelines, ensuring quality and consistency of production-ready assets. Additional responsibilities include supplier communication to ensure packaging meets all set standards and requirements, maintaining a database of related graphics files for products, and supporting internal production teams with packaging-related questions and needs.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Develop final packaging artwork files from creative layouts for packaging production
• Revise and update existing creative packaging files accurately and efficiently through rounds of review, edits and approvals
• Follow packaging guidelines and templates set by the Marketing Graphic Design team
• Creation and approval of barcode information on individual products, inner and master shipping cases
• Work closely with Marketing, Quality, Product Development, Purchasing and Quality Assurance to ensure all packaging

meets global standards and requirements

• Create packaging masters for all brands and products
• Submit final packaging for approvals and track approvals. Once approved, send artwork files to suppliers
• Maintain an online database of all packaging master files
• Ensure all final packaging artwork files are accurate and error free, including file construction, organization and final

production

• Prepare pre-press artwork files and release them to spec for outside vendors
• Review print proofs and first-run articles for accuracy and print quality
• Produce packaging materials and rework artwork for Assembly Team as needed
• Ability to multi-task effectively under pressure, balancing speed and quality
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in graphic design; 1-2 years graphic design experience in advertising/marketing or packaging development.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business literature and/or training materials. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and vendors. Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Must have the ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationship and communicate with persons outside the organization in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts to solve problems. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be MAC literate and have strong Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) emphasis. Graphics experience a must. Must have demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information. Skilled with working with pictures in graphics programs or other applications, including creating simple graphics, manipulating the appearance, and inserting graphics into other programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee has to occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is frequently required to walk; the employee is required to regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
