Looking for a QA Packaging Pre-Approval Tech-Food Production in Food Production Industry. This is a Direct Hire position. Hours are 2pm to 10:30pm. $20hr-$22hr DOE.
Under the direction of the QA Manager – Hale, this Technician is responsible for all aspects of packaging pre-approval for materials required for production orders. The purpose of this position is to manage daily production scheduling changes, shifts in S/R responsibilities with regard to packaging pre-approval process, and ensures all packaging materials are reviewed, and pre-approved before delivery to production; identifies and corrects issues when found.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Plans packaging pre-approval activities using most current production schedule information. Coordinates and communicates with S/R personnel to plan times to conduct packaging pre-approval procedure together. Verifies and signs off on BOMS with S/R personnel before items are released to production for use. Verifies packaging that is returned to inventory is reconciled on the BOM – helps production QA Techs with this task as needed. Enters packaging quality checks into Redzone electronic QA system. Coordinates with production as to location and approval status of packaging staged for production orders Ensures that packaging materials used are correct, matching BOM production order, and Navision proofs, and production SOPs for the orders. Maintains a log of all issues found during process – to quantify risk and potential costs of issues had they not be caught by pre-approval process. May cross-train as production QA Tech to help fill in during vacations/illness times. Participates in other activities as directed by QA Management.
Experience Requirements
Min 5 yrs experience in quality assurance in a food manufacturing setting
Food manufacturing experience required
Skills and Competencies Requirements
Complete understanding of GMP and Food Safety principles from prior experience in food manufacturing setting
Competent communicator, understands what to communicate, when and with whom
Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and plan ahead
Ability to work in electronic systems using iPad, and on computers using electronic data collection systems, and email
Thorough attention to detail is a must
Able to work in warehouse environments that have forklift traffic, may be loud
Ability to work in fast paced and changing environment of food manufacturing
Preferred Skills
Spanish language fluency is a plus, but not a requirement
USDA plant experience preferred
