Job Description

As an Embedded Systems Engineer at MicroStrain you will work closely with team members to develop inertial navigation technology for some of the world’s most innovative autonomous systems. Your responsibilities will include both software and firmware development. Prior experience in embedded software design and product lifecycle development is a must.

Required Skills and Experience

• Embedded code development in C/C++
• Experience working with low level hardware interfaces (RS232, CAN, SPI, I2C, USB, etc.)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, LabView, MatLab, etc.)
• Circuit board level debugging using standard equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering iron, power supply, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Programming ARM-based processors
• Developing products that use accelerometers, gyroscopes, or other sensors
• Developing analog sensor signal conditioners
• Using Altium schematic and PCB capture tools
• Understanding of radio technologies such as GNSS, LTE, IEEE 802.15.4, BLE, LORA
• Developing software for embedded Linux
• Analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)

Work Experience

• A minimum of 3 years experience in professional development enviroment

Education

• B.S. in computer or software engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
