Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (Scope Development)

PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is seeking experienced senior civil/structural engineers to assess existing conditions at various TBTA facilities and then develop conceptual designs to modify existing structures.

Scope of Work:

Primary Tasks/ responsibilities for the Scope Developing Consulting Engineer includes but not limited to:

• The selected candidate(s) is expected to have broad technical skills to initiate planning and scope development of new projects.
• Ability to visit bridge and tunnel sites, assess existing conditions and constraints, refer to available technical s, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, and then develop conceptual designs to modify existing structure/s to suit new requirements, assess the consequential potential need of strengthening the existing bridge components and adding new components.
• Perform engineering calculations as necessary.
• Develop conceptual set of drawings and s that comprehensively describe the project background, objectives, design requirements, codes, and standards, and proposed solutions.
• Develop preliminary engineer’s cost estimates.
• Work in coordination with other B&T engineering staff, participate in various meetings and prepare various documentation and ing.

Minimum Qualifications:

The potential candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required. A Master’s Degree desirable.
• Proposed candidate (s) should have a minimum of (15) years Civil / Structural Design experience with no less than (5) years of related management experience with several years of experience in scope development, writing specifications and working with technical standards, design guidelines and familiarity with the Authorities design procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Experience in the use of Excel, Word, Bluebeam, MicroStation/AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and other productivity and presentation software is required. 6. A driver’s license valid for use in the State of New York is required.

Pay: $75.00 – $95.00 per hour
