Olson’s Greenhouse Gardens Inc. is searching for a Human Resources Manager to grow with us as we continue to flourish as a leader in the greenhouse industry.

Currently we are looking for a team player to join our human resources department, someone who can jump in and cultivate our company culture and further nurture the development of our amazing employees.

In this position the Human Resources Manager will oversee the day-to-day human resources functions for our Salem & Santaquin, Utah facilities which comprises of approximately 275 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Responsibilities include all onsite functions for human resources including, overseeing, and managing our H2A program.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
HRIS/Payroll

• Maintain HRIS employee database (Paychex)
• Payroll processing and maintenance
• Maintain time & attendance system

Talent Acquisition & Employee Retention

• Oversee onboarding/offboarding of all employees
• Conduct new hire orientation
• Oversee all talent acquisition initiatives for recruitment strategies and retaining employees

Learning & Development

• Conduct compliance trainings, including safety trainings
• Oversee Paychex learning management system
• Engage, coach, mentor, support managers, supervisors, and employees
• Create personal development plans
• Conduct annual performance reviews

Employee Engagement

• Drive employee culture
• Further develop plan recognition programs/events
• Nurture a positive work environment

Benefit Administration

• Open enrollment administration
• New employees & life events enrollments
• Assist with audits and monthly billing
• Unemployment/FMLA/Workers Comp Claims

Employee Relations

• Advise managers on conditions of employment
• Update company handbooks/policies
• Disciplinary actions, employee investigations

Qualifications

• English & Spanish proficiency required (comprehension, speaking, writing)
• Minimum of 1-3 years HR experience in a generalist setting
• College degree or equivalent work experience
• Effective communication skills; excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time

• Ability to work in a team environment and work well with others
• Proficient in various computer programs, software and applications (MS Office

Suite). Paychex knowledge or similar HRIS preferred

• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
• A positive can-do attitude, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Proactive and independent, self-motivated with the ability to self-manage and take initiative

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
