Summary of Role

NovaSource Power Services is seeking an O&M Vegetation Management Supervisor to develop supervise the vegetation management team. It is a ‘working’ supervisor position of multiple employees who perform tasks as specified in an executed O&M service agreement between NovaSource Power Services and our Customers. O&M Vegetation Management Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, performance, and reporting requirements associated with vegetation control on assigned sites. The O&M Vegetation Management Supervisor will select and supervise contractors/vendors and NovaSource Associate Technicians in the performance of their assigned duties. The O&M Vegetation Management Supervisor reports to the Central Services Manager.

Occasional travel will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for adhering to an OSHA complaint safety program and recommending changes as required to ensure continuous improvement.
• Manage an annual budget
• Using the NovaSource CMMS (MAXIMO), ensure work is planned, scheduled, and completed to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and follow written procedures associated with vegetation management
• Establish and maintain spare parts inventories, tools and equipment needed to meet requirements of the vegetation management program and equipment under control of Vegetation Management Team.
• As specified in an executed O&M service agreement or Sales Order between NovaSource Power Services and each Customer; schedule, and perform:
• Vegetation management
• Coordinate and manage transactional services between contract and 3rd party customers
• Ability to accurately estimate efforts to perform vegetation management at 3rd party sites to support growing the NovaSource Vegetation Management Business.
• Select contractors/vendors, initiate contracts and supervise contractors/vendors or NovaSource PV technicians as needed to fulfill O&M service agreement obligations
• Coach, mentor, and develop Associate Technicians in the performance of tasks
• Perform duties associated with requirements of managing teams as outlined by Human Resources
• Manage compliance with regulatory requirements including environmental regulations
• Develop and maintain Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Programs for equipment under Vegetation Management Teams control
• Support other maintenance activities during the non-mowing periods of the year under the direction of a qualified person such as;
• Tracker Preventive Maintenance
• Combiner Box Preventive Maintenance
• Inverter Preventive Maintenance
• Substation Maintenance
• PV Module Changeout
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Physical

• Regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
• Be able to inspect and work maintenance activities in outdoor operations and maintenance areas without handicap access.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands to dexterously maneuver small parts in confined spaces, such as wires, screws, and various components within electrical equipment.
• Regularly required to kneel, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, use scissor lifts and cherry picker.
• Lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Education / Experience

• 2+ year’s Supervisory Experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• 1+ year’s contract and budget management experience preferred.
• Experience using computer work management and scheduling tools.

Work Environment

• Approximately 20% of the O&M Vegetation Management Supervisor’s work will be performed in an office work environment.
• Remainder of time will be spent outdoors supervising and participating in maintenance and operations of solar facilities in potential extreme weather conditions; including:
• Extreme heat
• Extreme cold
• High winds
• Rain
• UV exposure

• Candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
