Position Summary
Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is looking to recruit a talented and knowledgeable Associate Director, IT to support its facilities in Lincolnshire, IL and Pleasant Prairie, WI. The Associate Director, IT will be responsible for the strategic planning, direction, leadership, and management, including vendor management, of the Company’s IT needs to ensure Nexus Pharmaceuticals’ targets and goals are met. This role reports directly to the VP, Finance. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Assist VP, Finance to develop company’s IT vision and translate into actionable goals.
• Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
• Curate and maintain a strategic roadmap for the provision of IT Operations to support all IT activities and services.
• Partner with VP, Manufacturing to maintain and support Manufacturing IT needs.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop an overall IT strategy as well as specific Nexus strategies for applications, infrastructure-based business needs and enterprise-best practices.
• Ensure business process and business requirement analyses are conducted to determine optimal solution strategy, architecture, and design.
• Interface with other departments and management through the project process and manage changes to project plans. Propose budgets and schedules, set timetables for information systems projects, allocate resources, monitor progress, and troubleshoot solutions to project challenges.
• Determine and define technology objectives, tactics and budget, and align with strategic business objectives in coordination with key internal and external IT stakeholders.
• Provide technological guidance and improve organizational capabilities through enhanced IT standards, process and procedures.
• Define, develop and implement IT standards and technologies and coordinate security, compliance and change-control methodologies.
• Design, establish and oversee a network infrastructure for local, wireless and wide area connectivity, remote access and helpdesk systems and maintain the operational integrity of these systems within defined SLA’s.
• Oversee departmental budgeting and forecasting. Develop annual capital and operating budget plans.
• Maintain a depth of knowledge in sub-functions of IT Infrastructure and systems (LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, telephony, wireless, desktop, etc.) and impact of actions on related aspects of IT infrastructure, applications, processes, requirements, governance, etc.
• Coach, mentor and train new and existing team members in organizational, behavioral, and technical skills.
• Lead the work of internal resources, vendors, contractors and consultants providing analytical, development, testing, and/or implementation services across the different business units.
• Oversee and manage standards and relationships of third party managed service providers.

Education or experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a Computer Science related field.
• 9+ years of progressive IT and management experience including information security, infrastructure, IT governance, risk and compliance, best practices in application and network security, and experience in the operation and support of a wide range of networked end user computing technologies.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, medical devices, banking, nuclear, etc.) required.
• Experience interfacing operational and laboratory applications into QAD or another ERP system preferred.
• Experience writing and/or executing validation protocols and test scripts, writing final reports and investigating deviations preferred.
• Experience leading overall infrastructure for a complex organization and network.
• Extensive accuracy, thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality standards.
• Extensive business, analytical, strategy development and project management experience.
• Demonstrable experience of development and management tools and understanding of technology including infrastructure and support for enterprise applications.
• Comprehensive ability to develop people by providing them with development support, training requirements, career development plans and team building skills.
• Demonstrable ability to take the lead in establishing services-oriented architecture that ensure ROI through software component reuse and minimize cost/impact for delivery of new services by leveraging existing platform investments.
• Demonstrable experiences to negotiate, persuade, and influence others with sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and decision-making ability.
• Comprehensive ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality with business clients and other management personnel and provide excellent independent judgment.
• Extensive ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple providers and stakeholders.
• Comprehensive experience to plan appropriately and budget for projects and departmental overheads in a manner that allows management to rely on those plans for cash flow and capital expenditure forecasting.
• Experience with cloud hosted infrastructure and applications are beneficial.

Travel Requirements
Will be expected to travel between both Lincolnshire, Illinois and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin locations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regular (0% – 25%) exertion including standing/walking for extended periods of time, lifting/carrying more than 15 and up to 25 pounds. At times low physical effort includes sitting, and operating computers or other small equipment.

Pay: $77,112.12 – $192,083.58 per year
