Role Description The Mortgage IT Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading and overseeing all information technology functions that support mortgage banking operations. This role directs the design, implementation, and management of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure used across the loan lifecycle, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, and secondary market activities. The Mortgage IT Director will collaborate with executive leadership and business stakeholders to define and execute IT strategy, prioritize technology initiatives, and ensure systems meet regulatory, security, and performance standards. Daily responsibilities include managing IT operations teams, overseeing vendor relationships and service-level agreements, monitoring system performance and uptime, and ensuring effective incident response and problem resolution. The role also involves driving technology innovation, leading IT projects and upgrades, maintaining strong cybersecurity practices, and ensuring compliance with mortgage industry regulations and data privacy requirements. In addition, frequent internal testing of cyber awareness, new hire email and software logins, and day to day IT problem solving around company software systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT Management and IT Operations, preferably within mortgage banking, financial services, or a similarly regulated environment.
• Strong background in Information Technology, including: Encompass, Surefire, Microsoft, and Ncino application support for loan origination and related platforms.
• Hands-on expertise in Network Security and cybersecurity best practices, including access control, data protection, and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute IT Strategy aligned with organizational goals and evolving business needs.
• Experience leading remote and cross-functional teams for new implementation, with strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
• Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to mortgage lending and data privacy (e.g., GLBA, information security standards).
• Excellent communication with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL) are beneficial.
