Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel by writing and placing advertisements; screening and interviewing applicants; contacting outside placement services for temporary employment; and on-boarding.
Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook; and maintains legal compliance.
Prepares and keeps accurate record of benefit plans such as insurance, cafeteria plans, and pension plans and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations and disciplinary documentation.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs and performs investigations into the inquiries.
Implements and annually updates compensation program; and wage recommendations to General Manager and rewrites job description as necessary.
Conducts monthly enrollment meetings for health, dental, and life participants. Offers assistance to employees on benefit inquiries. Communicates benefit terminations, enrollments, and changes to payroll administrator.
Prepares annual information needed to gather health, dental, and life insurance quotes and works with Controller to make selection of carrier and plan with approval of the CEO.
Administers paid time off, leaves of absences and Family Medical Leave requests.
Assists Controller with retirement plan, including coordinating enrollment meetings and employee assistance.
Handles all aspects of the time and attendance system including adding new employees, preparation for payroll, and creates attendance reports for supervisors. Adds payroll information into AccPac payroll system for new employees, wage increases, and employee changes.
Performs duties of safety director including: investigation of accidents and preparation of reports for insurance carrier, leads the safety committee and maintains a safe working environment.
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation including unemployment notices.
