About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Claims Processor (radiology experience highly desired) to help with project work, up to 40 hours per week at an hourly rate of $30/per hour. This is a remote position and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and be an integral part of our Revenue Cycle team. This is for a contractor role (no benefits) & time duration is approximately 3-6 months, and you must have stable, high-speed internet. In this role, you will assist with insurance claims, payments, and invoices, and process high volumes of data. The ideal contractor has a strong knowledge of medical claim entry processing, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to our mission from anywhere.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Reviewing and processing medical claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with insurance policies.
· Verifying patient eligibility, benefits, and medical necessity by collaborating with healthcare providers and insurers.
· Investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues related to claims, including denials and rejections.
· Working with the clean claims process, limited errors for rejections.
· Maintaining accurate and organized records of processed claims and communications.
· Entering claims data into the processing system and evaluating claims for payment eligibility.
· Communicating with healthcare providers and patients regarding claims statuses and resolving any discrepancies.
· Ensuring timely processing of claims to meet deadlines and maintaining industry regulations and changes related to claims processing
Skills & Qualifications
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (required), or Bachelor’s (preferred).
· 5-7 years of medical claims payment experience (required) in radiology (highly desired)
· Previously worked in software RXNT – (strongly preferred)
· Understanding primary code classifications: ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
· Familiarity with insurance procedures and regulations.
· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing procedures.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
· Ability to use safe body mechanics and safe lifting while working remotely
· Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
· Ability to work on computer monitors/screens for extended periods
