LSF is looking for a Talent IT Applications Support Specialist to join our team.

Purpose and Impact:

Applications Specialist will be accountable to help customers solve issues with LSF off the shelve and inhouse developed business software applications. In this position, you will respond to calls for IT support, debug issues in the software, engage third party vendors or team members, or simply talk the customer through their issue. This is primarily an application support position, but you should be comfortable working with development tools like Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, some reporting tools like SSRS or Power BI. You should also be able to work with the hardware needed to run the application.

LSF will be provisioning equipment suitable to fulfill the job accountabilities of the role to work from home. Individual must have a reliable internet service and secured working environment at home. There will be as required meetings at the Tampa Central facility or other LSF facilities to work with the Program personnel.

Essential Functions:

• Recommend improvements to existing applications or design new applications to meet specific business needs.
• Prepare proposals for new software development projects, including identifying potential clients and creating detailed business requirements.
• Work with clients to design custom applications to meet their unique business needs
• Perform quality assurance testing on new applications to ensure they meet industry standards for functionality and usability
• Create reports on project status, including development timelines and identifying potential problems that may cause delays in completion
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting problems with existing applications
• Answer calls and emails from customers and respond to requests for IT support in a timely fashion.
• Coordinate with IT support staff or third-party vendors to troubleshoot technical issues with existing applications
• Log all requests and solutions

Relationships:

• Internal Contacts – Frequent contact with user groups to assist with resolving and providing creative solutions.
• External Contacts – Strategically aligned vendors

Physical Requirements:

• Travel out of town (statewide) as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation, with liability insurance (business use of the vehicle).
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Information Systems Discipline in same or related field desired.
• Preferable certifications include Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Solutions Developer (MCSD), Database Administrator (MCDBA), System Engineer (MCSE).

Experience:

• Two-Four Years of experience installing new software, altering, or improving the software, and troubleshooting issues.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio
• Data testing skills (test strategies, test plans, test data creation). Meta frame/TS and/or web-based interface experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and technical documentation skills
• Minimum 1 year experience working with Office 365 SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate.

• Proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience defining, implementing best practices for application deployment and support
• Experience in auditing applications for security compliance

• Excellent customer service skills.

Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Reports to IT Applications Supervisor
• Team player with co-workers and Central Services office staff.
• Adherence to Agency policies and management practices.
