As a Linux Systems Administrator you will configure, integrate, and support internal network environments. The type of underlying components that support the infrastructure typically include Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
The Linux Systems Administrator performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs supporting company business processes and operations. Analyzes, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software. Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. Plans, designs, acquires and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems. May contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design of existing and future platforms
Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot the system and the infrastructure that supports it
Routinely interact with software developers and data teams
Provide input to develop performance/security management of the platform
Basic Qualifications:
SCI required
BS or MS in IT or equivalent degree
6 or moreyears working experience with systems administration on Linux, UNIX, ideally RHEL
Understanding of AWS including RDS MySQL, S3+Cloudfront,
Experience with VMware
Experience with basic networking
Fundamental knowledge of cloud technologies
DOD 8570 Compliance, or the ability to quickly obtain and maintain active security certifications:CEH, DFR, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, or SCYBER) and IAT II (CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, or SSCP
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Certificates for Linux, VMWare, Apple
SeLinux
Bash scripting
Familiarity with DoD/Army IT policies and regulations
