Lead Laborer for Stone Fab Facility Full Time NEW

Responsible for operating one or more saws to cut stone block or slabs and applying finishing techniques to natural stone according to work order specifications. Assists in other production tasks such as mechanically splitting stone, packaging finished products on pallets, loading and unloading trucks, producing samples, maintaining equipment, and cleaning/organizing work areas.

Must be proficient in reading shop drawings, taking measurements, performing basic math, and maintaining attention to detail. Must be able to learn and recognize various stone types and colors. Must meet physical requirements, follow safety precautions, and safely use a variety of tools and equipment.

Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Develop and maintain a general knowledge and understanding of company’s procedures, quality standards, and safety precautions.

– Position involves continuous standing, walking, and physical movement throughout the workday.

– Acts as backup to the Supervisor when the Supervisor is not on site; helps coordinate workflow and escalates issues as needed.

– Set up saws, safely load and position natural stone, operate saws, produce stone to specifications, and offload products.

– Apply finishing techniques with attention to detail

– Assist in maintaining equipment and a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

– Assist the team in other production areas when needed.
