Jones County Sheriff Hiring for Jail Officer Job at Anamosa, IA Full Time

The Jones County Jail Administrator is now accepting applications for the position of jail officer. This is a full-time position that includes the county benefits package.

Starting pay $17.29 hour with continual step raises. Beginning July 1, 2022 a contract wage increase begins with starting pay of $19.19, 6-month wage is $19.68 and 1 year wage is $20.00.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be able to work various hours Monday-Sunday and holidays
• Is of good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation
• Is not by reason of conscience or belief opposed to the use of force, when appropriate or necessary to fulfill the person’s duties
• Has the ability to perform the essential elements of the position as defined in department job specifications
• Able to follow jail policy and procedures
• Be able to read and write the English language
• Possess a valid driver’s license; computer knowledge preferred
