About The Role

The Human Resources Intern at Six Flags Over Georgia plays a vital role in supporting the HR department’s daily operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, and administrative support. As a key member of the HR team, you will interact with prospective and current employees, assist in organizing recruitment efforts, and contribute to maintaining a positive workplace environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is necessary, along with the ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Previous experience in a theme park environment is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate objectivity during stressful situations are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and interview candidates for various high-volume departments to support staffing needs.
• Assist with recruitment efforts at local community events and coordinate scheduling of recruitment trips.
• Greet and assist new team members during interviews and wardrobe appointments in a friendly manner.
• Support team member relations initiatives, including retention programs, surveys, and guest service activities.
• Process rehire and new hire documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Proactively communicate with applicants via calls and emails to facilitate the interview process.
• Maintain organized files for past and current seasonal employees.
• Participate in reviewing applications and conducting interview follow-ups.
• Assist in conducting new hire orientations to ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
• Support inventory management tasks as needed, including counting and organizing supplies.
• Maintain a positive outlook and represent the park and HR department professionally.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the HR office, including laundry, sweeping, mopping, and filing.
• Handle incoming calls on a multiline phone system, take messages, and transfer calls appropriately.
• Monitor safety and cleanliness in front office areas to uphold a secure environment.
• Participate in special projects assigned by HR management, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team and park operations.
