Our Human Resource (HR) division is seeking to hire a Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3 In-training) to support the agency’s mission by providing consulting services for managers, supervisors and employees of ESD. As a HRC3T, you will be responsible for the full scope of human resource services and will assist in determining what advice and rule interpretation to provide to management and staff on complex personnel issues.
In this role, you will partner with the Senior Human Resource Consultant in order to provide a full range of expert level consultation to supervisors and managers in the areas of classification, compensation, recruitment, equal opportunity and affirmative action, family medical leave/shared leave, reasonable accommodation, collective bargaining, performance management, investigations and discipline. You will also assist in representing the agency in hearings and meetings, including employee grievances, disciplinary, Personnel Resources Board and unemployment compensation.

Please Note: This position can be filled at any of the following levels depending on the applicant’s qualifications. If filled at the Human Resource Consultant 2 level, the incumbent will be required to successfully complete a twelve (12) month training plan before being promoted to the goal classification of Human Resource Consultant 3.

Qualifications
Human Resource Consultant 2
Two (2) years of progressively responsible broad based professional human resource experience consulting in performance management, disciplinary action, corrective action, rule interpretation, employment law, classification and compensation
AND
Experience drafting professional written correspondence.
AND
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
AND
Ability to interact and maintain professional relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders such as a union.
Human Resource Consultant 3
Three (3) years of progressively responsible broad based professional human resource experience consulting in performance management, disciplinary action, corrective action, rule interpretation, employment law, classification and compensation
AND
Experience drafting professional written correspondence.
AND
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
AND
Ability to interact and maintain professional relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders such as a union.
