ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for communicating and enforcing company policies and procedures.
2. Manage performance of all direct reports in Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse.
3. Supervise the receiving/product control team leader(s) to ensure that loads are scheduled for receipt in accordance with customer requirements.
4. Work with shipping team to ensure customers’ delivery schedules are being met.
5. Lead and maintain an accurate warehouse inventory. Ensure complete execution of the plant cycle counting process and serve as the leader of the quarterly physical inventory audit process. Serve as the subject matter expert on inventory status, aged inventory, scrap material, customer owned inventory, etc.
7. Actively participate and guide training & development of all direct reports.
8. Train and certify all forklift operators.
9. Expedite requests for rates, tracing of freight movements, arrange special handling and/or equipment, as requested.
111. Expedite freight in compliance with regulations.
12. Process loss or damage claims.
13. Ensure that contract carriers and/or common carriers are making equipment available to meet needs.
14. Assure that all data placed in the plant inventory system is up-to-date as relates to traffic activity.
15. Lead & maintain plant safety & housekeeping standards in the warehouse
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
1. Work as a team with customer service and production to ensure that the customers’ requirements are being met.
2. Serve as a member of safety team.
3. Work with vendors to evaluate equipment and negotiate cost effective purchases/leases.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.
II. QUALIFICATIONS
1. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Business Management, Management Information Systems, etc) or seven to ten years of demonstrated logistics / warehouse leadership experience required.
2. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts as applied to warehousing practices and demonstrated success
3. Prior leadership experience managing a full internal plant supply chain & team members highly preferred (receiving, inventory accuracy, production staging, shipping/transportation scheduling)
