Responsibilities include the safe and environmentally compliant production, testing, and manufacture of products within prescribed specification ranges. Participates in plant safety, environmental, and production programs, including improvement teams. Understands and troubleshoots equipment; assists with maintenance and equipment preparation activities. Will cross train with other functions at the site.

• Operation of process control equipment and perform typical operations requirements: truck loading and unloading, connecting/disconnecting hoses, operating valves, and operating plant equipment as needed.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic operational problems, take corrective action and generate equipment repair requests. Issue and monitor permits (high work, hot work, confined space) for maintenance and contractors.
• Monitor, observe, and log operating conditions. Adhere to procedures to remain within operational compliance and shipping parameters. Monitor and maintain accurate material inventories.
• Follows all plant rules and EHS requirements and regulations. Maintain a clean and safe working area. Maintain a strong commitment to preventing illness, injury and environmental protection. Recognize, report and take reasonable actions to control hazards in immediate work areas.
• Perform tasks utilizing required PPE, such as chem suit (topcoat, bottom pants, rubber boots, gloves and face shield) and Respirators.

• Prior experience in a general industrial manufacturing environment
• Good communication skills and ability to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately.
• Must work well with others and function well within a team environment. Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
• Troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use a computer effectively with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams or schematics.
• Must work 12 hour rotating shifts
• Physical: Walking, driving, standing, lifting 50 pounds repeatedly (occasional lifting of 55 pounds), sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing. Ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator. Willingness to participate on the Confined Space Rescue Team

• 2 year chemical handling and process experience with HAZMAT training.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with pumps, valves, piping, and simple mechanical systems.
• Forklift certified.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; 2-year associates or higher preferred
• Coursework in Chemistry highly preferred but not required.
