Role & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead the Procurement department with all phases of our purchasing and inventory functions, reporting to the Director of Operations. Specific responsibilities include:

• Manager responsible for operation of department focused on procurement and delivery of raw materials and supplies
• Prepare bid specifications, receive bids and purchase a wide variety of the most critical production parts and materials including forgings, stampings and injection molded plastic components
• Identify and qualify domestic and international vendors
• Evaluate proposals for quality, price, delivery, freight and select optimal proposal
• Supervise the maintenance of procurement records, costs, preferred vendors, etc.
• Recommend, develop and implement policies and procedures for purchasing function
• Implement value-add opportunities from vendors

Qualifications:
We require a hands-on professional with attention to detail and the ability to think through problems and implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• College degree from a 4-year college in manufacturing, engineering or operations management; 6+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as basic MRP system functionality
• Excellent mathematical, analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively
