Groundworks is seeking a creative and technically skilled graphic designer to join our corporate team in Virginia Beach, VA. In this role, you will conceive of, prototype, design, and execute marketing and training materials and campaigns including but not limited to print ads, collateral material, digital assets, web graphics, signage, event graphics, training documents, newsletters, iconography, and more. This position will partner with the creative team and cross-functionally across the organization to tell the Groundworks story and that of its brands, solutions, and initiatives in a meaningful and impactful way, with a focus on achieving marketing and training goals.

Must be a highly motivated self-starter and team player, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a knack for prioritization and execution, and a bias towards action.

• Design a variety of compelling, high-fidelity print collateral, web and email graphics, print and digital advertisements, newsletters, social media graphics, infographics, and more
• Uphold and elevate graphic design and brand standards, while ensuring consistency with, and helping influence the overall marketing strategy
• Ensure consistency of brand and creative across customer touch points
• Create and deliver strong advertising creative that maximizes target audience response and exceeds company goals
• Assist in building, maintaining, and managing a design asset library, brand standards, and guidelines
• Assist with fulfillment of internal orders and requests, working with vendors, printing, and shipping as required
• Adhere to budgets, timelines, and work plans to ensure efforts support departmental and company objectives
• Taking ownership in partnering with development, email marketing, digital, and other department teams to bring concepts and designs to life, from start to completion
• Other duties as assigned

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in print and digital design
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Solid command of design skills showcased in a strong portfolio
• Strong understanding of print and digital media, mobile and desktop usability, visual problem-solving, design principles, layout and composition, visual hierarchy, use of color, and typography
• Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Could – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Knowledge in Adobe XD, After Effects, and Acrobat Pro is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Office Suite – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Strong advertising experience
• Strong photo editing and manipulation skills
• Experience with asset libraries and design system management tools and techniques.
• Proven ability to design for multiple platforms, media, and sizes
• Up to date with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality results with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with a positive and ambitious attitude, flexible, organized and takes direction well
• Open to working additional time when necessary
• Strong copywriting, content structure, and storytelling abilities a big plus
• Knowledge with Asana project management software a plus
