An organic mushroom grower in Sebastopol is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join our team. A professional who is able to multitask and help ensure a cohesive team environment. Able to have the hard conversations; solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts professionally and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Safety training (assemble New Hire Packets); Job postings internally/externally.
• Manage 401k eligibility paperwork and sign ups
• Administer/Coordinate Benefit open enrollment September/October of each yr.
• Code/process Health benefit monthly invoices and update spreadsheets
• Check and maintain Time & Attendance system. Process employee time through Webtime, for payroll processing in CA every other Wednesday.
• Process Forecasted PTO between Jan 1-Jan 31 of each year
• Coordinate employee reviews on their anniversary date
• Uphold good communication across all departments
• Process paperwork/reports for injuries; Workers Comp compliant.
• Maintain proper employee files; filing
• Help organizing and facilitating company functions
• Help provide training to employees and managers as required and needed. This may include harassment and discrimination prevention, annual trainings on organizational policies and procedures.
• Projects – assigned as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience with all facets of Workers Compensation/Employee Injury reporting requirements
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, with accuracy and follow through. Detail oriented; ability to multi-task
• Ability to adapt to different personalities and situations instantaneously. Positive, “Can Do” attitude, resourceful and uses common sense.
• Working experience in the Ag Industry is a plus
