Responsibilities:

What you will be doing:

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the development of fundamental, validated and optimized architectures, principles, patterns, processes and standards.

• Consulting guidance on technical issues, business strategy and program planning, and architectural oversight to ensure GM Financial’s systems conform to our core values, architectural standards and strategic priorities.
• This team member has contact with Information Technology and Business leaders so excellent communication (verbal and written) and storytelling (presentation) skills are required.
• Provide technical and business insight in a consultative manner to build scalable, distributed and integrated systems that satisfy current business needs with agility.
• Collaborate with Business and IT leadership to establish, capture, and communicate strategic initiatives and trends
• Develop and enhance business architectures, eg, capability maps, roadmaps, value streams
• Leverage industry and enterprise architecture best practices to advance the EA discipline and our team strategy
• Establish and communicate EA value to stakeholders
• Collaborate with other architects on the evolution of developed system design
• Facilitate information sharing across the enterprise
• Maintain current state landscape of system hardware, software and data
• Assist in the development and maintenance of architectural standards and patterns globally
• Define and document EA products and development standards for the team
• Act as a mentor providing guidance to all team members on technical, business and architectural issues

Qualifications:

• Solid and broad understanding of information systems technologies
• Advanced knowledge of business, application, data and technology modeling, eg UML, ArchiMate, BPMN
• Advanced knowledge of modern solution architecture patterns (N-tier, microservices/APIs, orchestrations)
• Practical experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred) and how to apply them AZ certifications are a plus
• Practical experience with Agile, SAFe and waterfall development/deployment methodologies SAFe certifications are a plus
• Practical experience with typical EA deliverables (roadmaps, capabilities, value streams and value stream mapping, pattern capture, reference architectures)
• Working knowledge of or practical experience with EA frameworks a plus (eg, TOGAF)

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
• Master’s Degree preferred

• 2-3 years of solution or enterprise architecture experience required
• 7-10 years business and systems analysis experience required
• 7-10 years of systems development experience Microsoft stack is preferred required
