The Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical, administrative and development level support for all SAS applications leveraged by Business Intelligence and its business partners. This position will ensure that the SAS environment, as well as related security infrastructure and its systems and processes are aligned with tactical and strategic initiatives. The Systems Engineering Manager will lead planning, coordination and implementation of various SAS products. Other responsibilities include maintaining the SAS software roadmap, presenting technical briefings to the support staff, developers and the management team. The ideal Systems Engineering Manager possesses the ability to interface with all aspects of IT infrastructure staff to follow best practices for the SAS platform, making recommendations and working with SAS Institute to ensure integration and compliance with GMF standards.
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
Act as a Technical leader in the design, development, and enhancement of the SAS analytics platform
Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
Provide cross-functional technical support managing and maintaining infrastructure and systems, assist in system design & programming, upgrades, patching, testing, support to diagnose & resolve issues and operation of related application
Executes actions necessary to achieve and maintain optimum SAS platform performance, reliability and availability
Serves as an escalation point for production and/or platform issues and acts as lead liaison with SAS Technical Support to resolve outstanding issues within the SAS environments
Provide support for future deployed virtualized environments, including installation, maintenance, documentation, customization and utilization based on customer requirements
Review/QA of fixes incidents/problems that involve system wide configuration or patching
Coordinate the prioritization and assignment of technical tasks in accordance with determined priorities
Ensures the platform is positioned and configured in accordance with GMF IT policies and standards
Coordinate and oversee technical training plans for Engineering and Support team
Manage SAS platform technology roadmap to maintain alignment with: Business functional and non-functional requirements, GMF and GM Information Technology objectives, and SAS software roadmap
Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solution
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications:
Knowledge
Experience defining strategic direction for SAS platform and leading technical team
Experience performing installations in a SAS Grid environment, from production to testing to disaster recovery and UAT
Strong working experience in an environment with SAS, with experience delivering various projects preferred
Design and development experience as a SAS Architect or a SAS manager in complex environments
Understand Linux commands that will enable you to monitor performance, ability to move around in a Linux environment as required for basic functioning of SAS and a good understanding of how Linux and SAS are integrated
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively
Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
Experience administering applications on Linux Servers
Understanding of SAS products and how they function together in a distributed environment including but not limited to: GRID M5 or higher, SAS Viya 35 or higher,
Experience with Security and Authentication across multiple SAS products
Experience with programming languages, such as SAS, Python, SQL and Java preferred
Financial Services experience a plus

Education
High School Diploma required
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work or military experience required
Experience
7-10 years working and maintaining computer systems required
2-4 years management or supervisory experience required
Proven design and development experience as a SAS Architect or a SAS manager in complex environments required
Prior experience performing installations in a SAS Grid environment, from production to testing to disaster recovery and UAT required
5-7 years of experience delivering various projects preferred
