Global Evaluation & Applied Research Solutions (GEARS) Inc. is responsible for managing and enhancing social media (Facebook and Twitter) engagement for two Federal government programs. We are currently seeking talented social media freelancers with a focus on managing social media channels for Federal government clients with at least 4 years of proven experience. This is a part time freelance opportunity for a 2-year contract, with an average estimated level of effort of up to 20 hours per month.
The successful candidate will work as part of a communications team comprised of writer/editors, project manager and graphics designers and have experience with developing and managing communications strategies for public health programs (preferably focusing on youth and adolescent health).
The Social Media Manager responsibilities will focus on increasing brand awareness through the effective use of social media outlets and tasked with several key duties, such as:
Experience developing an A-Z Social media strategy – plan, audience building, messaging, asset creation, image identification and design, and content strategy. The successful candidate will have experience establishing a trusted relationship with clients, provide monthly insights & reports via Google Studios, and knowledge of best practices to ensure strong audience engagement. The candidate will serve as the primary POC for social media communications with the client and participate in bi-weekly meetings.
The candidate should be available to respond to email and telephone inquiries and participate in ad hoc meetings during normal business hours.
