The HR generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action and employment equity programs.
Acts as the first point of contact for the Technology teams and managers.
Maintains employee personnel files and data in HRIS, recruiting software, and SharePoint.
Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
Establishes and coordinates employee recognition and engagement programs.
Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
Coaches, counsels and guides managers and associates in areas related to employment best practices, employment law, productivity, and performance.
Assist HR Manager in creating and implementing various HR policies and initiatives.
Implement continuous process improvement related to HR processes and activities.
Qualified applicants will have solid understanding of employment laws and regulations as they relate to general HR-related compliance.
Managing compliance programs as they relate to state and federal regulations including but not limited to Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA), Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA), Affordable Care Act (ACA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Worker’s compensation, Immigration and Employment Authorization (including I-9), EEO-1 reporting, Title VII, Uniformed Services Employment and reemployment Right Act (USERRA)
Research changes in laws and regulations and analyze their impact on the organization; communicate findings to HR team members
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This position is not responsible for presenting or conducting the training, only sharing the information with the other HR team members.
Compiling and analyzing both internal and external information to prepare compliance audit data
Travel to other office locations to conduct HR compliance audits as needed
Organizational Development and Training
Collaborate with management to identify company training needs.
Schedule appropriate training sessions.
Oversee and direct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, and lectures.
Plan and implement an effective training curriculum.
Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos, and presentations.
Train and guide new employees.
Develop monitoring systems to ensure that all employees are performing job responsibilities according to training.

This position may be based out of Deerfield, IL, Fairfield, IA, Chantilly, VA, or Rockville, MD. Applicants wishing to work remotely on a permanent basis may be considered if references are provided and verified. Accepting applications from CA CO FL GA IA IL IN MD MN OH SC TX VA WA WI. For Colorado applicants, the compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 – 65,000 and is based on a combination of previous experience and education.
