Welcome! We’re Mike’s Hot Honey, America’s leading hot honey brand. It all started with a simple idea in 2010, when our founder, Mike Kurtz, began drizzling his homemade chili-infused honey on pizzas at the Brooklyn pizzeria where he worked. Customers asked to take some home, word spread, and a whole new category of honey was born.
You’ll find Mike’s Hot Honey on restaurant menus and retail shelves across the country — but at our core we’re still a tight-knit team that takes care of one another and has a lot of fun doing what we do. We’re growing, and we’d love to find the right person to grow with us.
The Opportunity
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who believes great financial analysis is more than accurate numbers — it’s a tool for better decisions. You’ll manage and evolve our financial reporting infrastructure, building the dashboards, models, and KPI frameworks that leadership relies on to nimbly run the business.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, translating complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that drive action. If you’ve spent time in consulting, private equity, banking, or a fast-moving CPG environment and you’re ready for a role where your work is seen, used, and valued — this is it.
What You’ll Own
• Own and continuously improve the company’s financial reporting structure — monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages that are accurate, insightful, and built for a leadership audience.
• Design and maintain dynamic KPI dashboards that bring the business to life visually — tracking performance across revenue, margin, channel, and operational metrics in real time.
• Build and manage financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making as the business scales.
• Partner with department heads and cross-functional teams to gather inputs, understand business drivers, and ensure financial reporting reflects operational reality.
• Identify trends, variances, and opportunities in the data — and package those findings in a way that’s clear, actionable, and compelling to non-finance stakeholders.
• Support ad hoc analysis for leadership and the board, including investor materials, strategic initiatives, and business performance reviews.
• Evaluate and implement tools or process improvements that raise the quality and efficiency of the finance function over time.
What You’ll Bring
• 3+ years of relevant financial experience — with meaningful time in consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a high-growth CPG or consumer brand.
• 4-year bachelor’s degree with a focus on Accounting or similar.
• Exceptional financial modeling skills — you build models that are clean, flexible, and are actually used by the people you build them for.
• A sharp visual instinct for data presentation — you know the difference between a spreadsheet and a story, and you consistently deliver the latter.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial analysis to senior leadership clearly and with confidence.
• High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture — you can get deep in the numbers and still surface the insight that matters.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where the work evolves quickly.
Nice to Have
• Experience with ERP or financial planning software (NetSuite, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar).
• Background in CPG, food & beverage, or consumer goods — familiarity with trade spend, retail margins, and channel economics
• Exposure to board reporting or investor relations at a growth-stage company.
• Advanced proficiency in the tools that make analysis sing: Excel/Google Sheets at an expert level, and fluency in at least one data visualization or BI platform (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar).
Why You’ll Love It Here
We’re a small team with big energy. We care about our product, our customers, and each other — and we work hard to maintain that tight-knit culture even as we grow. If you’re looking for a place where your work matters, where you can learn quickly, and where the people around you genuinely have your back, we’d love to meet you
