Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Medical Records/Central Supply Clerk in Fairfield, TX!

The Medical Records clerk will work closely across departments to ensure that resident medical records are created, maintained, and stored in accordance with company, state, and federal requirements. This position requires a keen eye for detail and understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain facility medical records system in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
• Code and quantify records from admission to discharge.
• Assist with development of record policies and procedures.
• Maintain a documented, organized system which is readily accessible by others.
• Prepare reports as requested.
• Act as secretary for designated meetings.
• Conduct resident chart audits quarterly.

Qualifications:

• Medical Records certification preferred.
• Basic clerical and office function skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
• Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand and requirements as outlined below.
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and handicapped people.
• Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities.
• Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand and requirements as outlined below.
• Must qualify for company insurance, pass DMV check, practice safe defensive driving skills.
