II. Job Overview
The Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for formulating and driving the organization’s overall operational excellence strategy. By introducing advanced management methodologies (such as Lean Management, Six Sigma, etc.), this role continuously optimizes business processes, enhances efficiency and quality, reduces costs, and drives the organization toward achieving long-term performance improvement and value growth. III. Core Responsibilities
1. Strategy and System Development
Develop the company’s overall Operational Excellence (OpEx) strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the corporate business strategy.
Establish and continuously optimize operational management systems, process standards, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve end-to-end process optimization.
2. Continuous Improvement and Lean Management
Introduce and promote methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Lead key improvement initiatives (e.g., cost reduction and efficiency gains, cycle time reduction, quality enhancement).
Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the organization.
3. Data Analysis and Performance Enhancement
Utilize data analytics tools to identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Design and monitor key operational metrics (e.g., OEE, OTIF, cost ratios, etc.).
Drive continuous business optimization through data-driven decision-making.
4. Organization and Capability Building
Build and lead Operational Excellence teams (e.g., CI teams, Process Optimization teams).
Develop internal Lean and Six Sigma expertise (e.g., Black Belts, Green Belts).
Drive organizational change management and cultural transformation.
5. Cross-Functional and Executive Collaboration
Collaborate closely with departments such as Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT.
Report improvement results and operational performance to the Senior Management Team.
Support major corporate initiatives, such as M&A integration and business transformation.
IV. Job Requirements
Education Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
MBA preferred.
Work Experience
20+ years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain management.
5+ years of leadership experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement or Operations Management.
Experience working across multiple regions or business units is preferred.
Professional Competencies
Proficiency in methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
Familiarity with the design and implementation of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks.
Strong data analysis skills (e.g., using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
Strong project management capabilities (PMP certification preferred).
Leadership Capabilities
Excellent cross-functional communication and influencing skills.
Possesses a blend of strategic thinking and strong execution capabilities.
Strong ability to drive organizational change and perform effectively under pressure.
