Position Overview

This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing & Partnerships Officer and will work closely with executive leadership across growth, product, operations, and go-to-market initiatives.

We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Business Development & Partnerships to lead strategic growth initiatives and expand Patient.com’s consumer ecosystem.

This role will own and execute high-impact partnership strategies that accelerate customer acquisition, patient engagement, and monetization opportunities across healthcare administration, patient affordability, wellness services, financial wellness solutions, and digital healthcare experiences.

You will sit at the front line of Patient.com’s commercial expansion, building relationships with innovative organizations that want to help transform the patient experience.

This role requires a hands-on builder and strategic dealmaker who thrives in fast-moving environments, knows how to convert relationships into scalable partnerships, and can identify emerging market opportunities before competitors do.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Partnerships

• Drive commercial growth by identifying, negotiating, and closing strategic partnerships that expand Patient.com’s reach, engagement, and revenue
• Develop and execute partnership strategies across:
• Consumer health platforms
• Wellness and retail ecosystems
• Financial services and affordability solutions
• Digital distribution and engagement channels
• Healthcare technology and data partners

Business Development Execution

• Build and manage a high-value partnership pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship development, and creative deal structuring
• Own the full partnership lifecycle:
• Prospecting
• Pitch development
• Negotiation
• Contracting
• Launch coordination
• Ongoing relationship management

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Patient Navigation/Data, and Leadership teams to align partnership opportunities with business goals and product roadmap priorities
• Help shape growth strategy by bringing market intelligence and customer insights back into the organization

Market & Consumer Insights

• Stay deeply connected to evolving consumer healthcare behaviors, digital engagement trends, and emerging partnership opportunities
• Monitor competitive activity and identify new growth channels that support Patient.com’s mission and business objectives

Brand Representation

• Represent Patient.com externally as a passionate advocate for patient empowerment, transparency, clarity and innovation
• Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders across healthcare and consumer industries

Performance & Optimization

• Analyze partnership performance, acquisition metrics, and ROI to optimize growth initiatives and scale successful programs
• Develop repeatable frameworks and partnership playbooks that improve speed and execution quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or growth roles
• Proven success closing high-impact partnerships that drive measurable business growth
• Experience in healthcare, consumer health, fintech, digital platforms, SaaS, or data-driven ecosystems preferred
• Strong network across potential partner ecosystems is a plus
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously and thrive in ambiguity
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong strategic thinking combined with a bias toward execution and results
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to connect partnership activity to user growth, engagement, and revenue outcomes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
• Experience with CRM and deal management platforms such as HubSpot
• Demonstrated desire and capability to grow into senior executive leadership as Patient.com scales
