Overview

A multi-billion dollar hedge fund is seeking a Credit Trader to join its investment team. The role will focus on identifying and executing trading opportunities across global credit markets while working closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and risk teams. The ideal candidate will have strong market instincts, experience managing risk, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced investment environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage trades across a broad range of credit products and fixed income instruments
• Monitor market conditions, liquidity, spread movements, and relative value opportunities
• Partner closely with portfolio managers and research analysts on trade ideas and portfolio positioning
• Manage risk exposures and ensure adherence to portfolio guidelines and trading limits
• Develop relationships with broker-dealers, counterparties, and market participants
• Analyze market flows, pricing, and technical factors impacting credit markets
• Contribute to portfolio construction, hedging strategies, and trade execution optimization
• Assist with trade allocation, execution analytics, and post-trade review processes
• Stay current on macroeconomic developments, central bank activity, and credit market trends

Qualifications

• Experience trading credit or fixed income products within a hedge fund, asset manager, bank, or proprietary trading environment
• Strong understanding of credit markets, market structure, liquidity dynamics, and risk management
• Experience working with portfolio managers and investment teams in a fast-paced trading environment
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent communication and decision-making abilities under pressure
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Preferred Background

• Experience across corporate credit, high yield, investment grade, structured credit, leveraged loans, or related products
• Familiarity with electronic trading platforms, OMS/EMS systems, and market analytics tools
• Exposure to both buy-side and sell-side trading environments is a plus
