Looking for experienced Cinematographers/Videographers to join our team, as shooters as well as ongoing video editors. We are one of the leading, cutting-edge Video Companies in Michigan and creativity and experience are a must.
PLEASE do not apply if you do not own your own basic equipment, including at minimum a DSLR (or equivalent) camera and lenses, video tripod/stabilization, audio and on-camera light.
PLEASE do not apply if you have zero experience with wedding cinematography/videography.
This is contract work and does not include a salary or benefits.
Our company does over 80 events per year, from weddings to corporate events. We have established one of the absolute best reputations in the wedding industry and have been voted #1 in Metro-Detroit over 5 straight years. Because of this, we are looking for serious candidates who can confidently capture a live event and have the know-how and general understanding as to how weddings work. Ideal candidate would also possess great social skills and would be outgoing, as networking and appearance is a major part of the job. Living close to Chesterfield, MI or thereabouts is ideal but not required.
IMPORTANT! Applicant must be willing to go through training, which would require them to accompany an established shooter out on an actual gig. These training events will not be for very much pay. After each training, your footage will be reviewed and you will be incrementally be given more and more responsibilities on jobs. Once you “graduate” to established shooter, you will get normal pay, which varies from event to event but usually ranges between $350 – $600 per day (requiring normally between 5 and 12 hours of shooting). Editing pay is negotiable based on experience and on a per project basis, however we have enough editing work for ongoing work, as much or as little as you may be able to handle or want.
Although we of course appreciate longevity and seniority, our business is mostly based on CONSISTENCY. Simply put: Our better, more consistent shooters will be the ones given the most work, and therefore the most pay. The number of training events required differs from person to person, but in the past some have trained on only a few events before “graduating” while others have worked trained on 15+ events over the span of more than one year.
Applicant must have a valid MI drivers license and be available on weekends, as most events will be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
We also run our unique Slow-Motion Video/Photo Station, which is a high-end photo booth and slow-motion booth all-in-one. If you are starting out and do not have any Wedding experience but would still be willing to work weekends and possibly train, this is a good starting point for you. Training is involved in this area too, but most applicants with basic video knowledge should be able to quickly pick this up. These events are also mostly on weekends, and usually requires anywhere from 5-7 hours of work (including set-up, tear-down, and service at event). These contractors are typically paid around $125-$145 per event.
We are looking to fill our team by the end of March, with most events taking place between May and December of 2022. Ideal candidate would be both a shooter and an editor, however we are willing to accept applications for either or these specific jobs.
We look forward to working with you! Please email responses only, we will not consider anyone who tries contacting us by phone during the initial job posting phase.
