Commercial Fireproofing Quality Control / Quality Assurance Full Time NEW

Rolling Plains Construction is looking for a Commercial Fireproofing Quality Control Inspector. This position is responsible for marking and verification of holdbacks, quality documentation, and quality inspections at all stages of production for intumescent and cementitious fireproofing. Pay rate negotiable based on experience and certifications.

Pay ranges from $25 to $35 depending on experience and certifications. Some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of intumescent and cementitious fireproofing applications to ensure compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.
• Verify proper surface preparation, environmental conditions, thickness measurements, adhesion, and finished product quality.
• Document inspections, hold points, deficiencies, corrective actions, and daily quality reports.
• Coordinate with project management, field supervision, clients, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of DFT (Dry Film Thickness) readings and inspection documentation.
• Assist with mock-ups, testing procedures, and quality audits as required.
• Ensure work complies with OSHA safety standards and RPC safety policies.
• Support project turnover documentation and closeout packages.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial fireproofing inspection, coatings inspection, or quality control.
• Knowledge of intumescent and cementitious fireproofing systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and fireproofing submittals.
• Experience using DFT gauges and inspection equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with UL assemblies, ASTM standards, and project quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in active construction and industrial environments.
• Must be willing to travel as project needs require.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and site-specific training requirements.
