You will be enrolled in a 3 week training program that will prepare you to function as a an Exceptional Nurse Assistant at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Job Duties will allow you to:
Contribute to the overall quality and safe care for patients by answering call lights, taking vital signs and monitoring behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration.
Create a positive patient experience by assisting patients with their activities of daily living including assisting with baths, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene and making occupied and unoccupied beds.
Contribute to quality care and safety by assisting and performing procedures such as toileting, turning, cough and deep breathing, catheter care, collection of biological specimens, measuring and recording intake and output of fluids.
Contribute to exceptional patient satisfaction by establishing a compassionate environment by timely responses to patients’ needs, open communication and providing emotional and psychological support.
Contribute to safety and quality care by relaying information via charting and communicating to team members.
Attend classes and clinical rotations as determined by program.
Communicate clearly with instructors, staff, and patients.
Comply with privacy and confidentiality policies related to utilization of the medical record.
Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Applicant must pass a Pre-employment math and reading comprehension test.
All newly Nurses Assistant applicants will be required to attend a 3-week Nurse Assistant Program provided by our Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s education department.
The first week will consist of didactic education and skills training. These classes will be held form 9a-5p in the Education building.
The remaining 2 weeks will consist of on-site training with Nurse Assistants and Registered Nurses. The majority of this training will consist of 12-hour shifts in the hospital, which may include weekend shifts or night shifts, based on the preceptorship schedule and needs of the nursing unit.
American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification will be obtained in the Nurse Assistant Program.
After successful completion of the 6-week Nurse Assistant Program, learners will be hired into a nursing department based on the organization’s needs
