Together, we will become the world’s leading cancer reference laboratory.Position Summary:As a Clinical Data Abstractor, you will primarily be responsible for procuring historical demographic, diagnostic, clinical, epidemiologic, and administrative patient level data from medical records into a computerized case record system following defined procedures. You will partner closely with the clinical Informatics team in transforming the data into digital formats, and demonstrate strong communication, documentation, organization and planning skills, and maintain consistently high abstraction quality performance metrics. Responsibilities:
Extraction and indexing of free text data elements from medical records and reports.
Work closely with Data Operations and subject matter experts to refine processes for data curation and build a standardized data warehouse.
Maintain minimum performance standards as measured by pre-determined metrics.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing goals as assigned by management.
Support team members with various data mining, management & analysis tasks
Assist in developing and delivering high-quality PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate key information
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in public health, biology, or other health-related fields, preferred.
Minimum of (3) years previous experience as a healthcare data curator or analyst, or experience in clinical research, a health-related registry, or as a registered nurse or physician assistant in Oncology.
