BI Analyst

Banesco USA is seeking a BI Analyst for our Business Process business unit.

Primary Job Duties

• Data Needs Definition & Collaboration: Identify data sources not yet available in central repositories and collaborate with the BI and Data Management teams to define requirements for new data tables, ensuring the necessary information is available for consumption.
• Advanced Data Modeling: Design and implement robust data models within Power BI, utilizing Power Query and SQL to transform fragmented data into a “single source of truth.”
• Reporting & Visualization: Build and maintain insightful reports and interactive, high-impact dashboards that monitor deterministic and inferential KPIs, making complex statistics accessible to stakeholders.
• Requirements Translation: Lead discovery sessions with business users to gather requirements and translate their “business questions” into technical data solutions.
• Statistical Analysis: Apply quantitative and qualitative methods to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, ensuring the integrity of our reporting ecosystem.
• Process Optimization: Analyze channel and process performance to identify bottlenecks, offering data-backed proposals for automation or workflow redesign.
• Automation & Innovation: Explore opportunities to implement RPA, AI, or BPM tools to automate repetitive reporting tasks and enhance departmental efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Management.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a Business Analyst or BI role. Experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector is a significant advantage
• Languages: Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Technical Powerhouse:
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI (including DAX and Data Modeling).
• Strong command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Pivot, complex formulas).
• Additional Technical Skills: Familiar with Python and/or R Studio; knowledge of automation tools like AI, RPA, BPM, etc.
• Analytical Mindset: A strong foundation in statistics with the ability to manage both qualitative data and inferential KPIs.
• Core Competencies & Soft Skills:
• Communication: Ability to translate technical findings into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
• Detail-Oriented: Finds discrepancies and a commitment to reporting accuracy.
• Consultative Approach: Strong stakeholder management skills with a focus on internal customer satisfaction.
