The Logistics Coordinator’s primary responsibility is the optimization of the logistics functions for the applicable division in the Company (such as Human Nutrition, Health Ingredients, Personal Care, Industrial, CASE & PLASTICS, Paper/Petroleum). The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing our 3PL Warehouse Network ensuring accurate inventory levels & quality of service. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator will assist in the coordination of freight shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Relationship Management – Communication with 3rdparty service providers and colleagues to manage accurate shipments & inventory

• Communicates with warehouses, customs brokers, and freight contacts when necessary
• Interacts with Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service on a regular basis, to ensure timely delivery and accurate shipments

Prioritization/Task Management – Prioritizes workload and effectively uses tracking tools to ensure the timely delivery of orders

• Track & reconcile 3PL warehouse inventories to maintain accuracy
• Manage and resolve warehouse discrepancies, carrier claims & freight bill-to issues
• Coordinate and track domestic shipments: inbound, outbound & warehouse transfers

ERP/System Control– Ensures data integrity in ERP system

• Ensure warehouse inventory accuracy in the ERP System
• Processes warehouse transfers

Problem Solving/Continuous Improvement – Problem solves when issues arise, and strives to implement continuous improvement

• Requests and follows up with NCR issues where applicable, such as credits
• Uses proper protocols, to address for non-conformance issue (NCRs)
• Uses problem solving skills and knowledge of the logistics function to provide updates to necessary departments

Other

• Support and lead by example, Barentz’ culture, strategies, pillars, and fundamentals
• Participate in ongoing personal development opportunities
• Perform other duties as requested

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma; Post-secondary education is considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of ERP systems is preferred, but not mandatory
• Highly analytical and detailed oriented
• Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, with preference for bilingualism
• Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
• Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals
• Special training may be required to ensure product hazards are identified and risk of exposure is mitigated

Work Environment

Work is performed in a Hybrid work environment (remote and in-person) where the temperature is maintained throughout the year. Some local travel may be required.

Physical requirements

The position is moderately sedentary. Use of a computer and phone are required on a regular basis for verbal and written communications.
