The Associate Software Developer (ASD) is responsible for the delivery of solutions that result in a remarkable experience for BECU members within a highly collaborative agile software development environment. Collaboration is within the team and across teams including working directly with business partners. The ASD works closely with Software Developers and Senior Software Developers to deliver software solutions that allow BECU to differentiate itself in the market. The ASD is accountable for building their skills and experience on a daily basis. This is done individually and by partnering with other software developers utilizing current projects and coursework.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
Develop market leading solutions by combining technical expertise with a developing understanding of basic software design concepts throughout the software development lifecycle.
In collaboration with team, use technical expertise combined with business acumen to envision what’s possible in solving business challenges using technology to differentiate BECU in the market.
Responsible for system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
In collaboration with team, work directly with internal customers to build prototypes/solutions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline required, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience designing software and writing production code in a team environment required.
Up to date knowledge of design and development tools.
Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Willingness to keep up with developments in the technical and financial services industries.
Experience with agile software development preferred.
Exposure to full stack of development skills preferred including UI, web and middle tier services, and DBMS software development.
Experience preferred with .Net 4.0, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, Web API’s.
Ability to learn and to deliver solutions in multiple programming languages and technical environments.
Understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and how they apply to software development is preferred.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery preferred.
Exposure to Test Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools preferred.
Experience with source control models and processes preferred.
Understanding of data modeling concepts is preferred.
Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
